Ogmios Foundation Encounters Banking Barrier in Humanitarian Medicine Transfer

Posted 10 hours ago

🌍 Special Report – Ogmios Foundation

Ten Thousand Euros, Three Pharmacies, and Walls Named “Banking Systems”

A Human Story of a Humanitarian Mission and Global Obstacles in Aid Delivery

Ogmios Foundation:

In a world where technology and global banking can transfer money across continents in seconds, sometimes a single phrase can halt a humanitarian mission.

This is the story of Samir, a young doctor who has devoted his life to helping people, but found himself facing unexpected obstacles despite pure intentions.

✳️ The Beginning: A Human Decision by the President of Ogmios Foundation

Late last summer, Samir Abdullah, President of the Ogmios Foundation, decided to transfer €10,000 to support a family-run pharmacy serving patients and refugees.

The goal of this donation was to secure essential medicines for patients and families living under difficult economic and social conditions.

One of the managers of these pharmacies is Dr. Samir — a dedicated young physician who has quietly worked for years, with limited resources, to improve the welfare of his community.

However, the transfer that was supposed to mark the beginning of a humanitarian effort quickly turned into a source of worry, exhaustion, and bureaucratic obstacles.

💬 From Good Intentions to an Unjustified Halt

The bank transfer included a simple phrase in its reference: “Palestine Medicine.”

Yet these two words were enough to stop the transaction in international banks in both the Netherlands and Egypt.

Samir recalls:

“We just wanted to buy medicine. There was no political or personal agenda. But when the word ‘Palestine’ appeared in the transfer, everything suddenly stopped. Calls began, investigations started, and the medicines that were supposed to reach patients remained on hold.”

⚖️ The Cost of Humanity in a Politicized World

This incident highlights that even pure humanitarian activities can become entangled in political sensitivities and financial regulations.

While banks claim such reviews are standard procedures to prevent financial crimes, Samir’s family believes that politics replaced humanity in this instance.

“If we had simply written ‘Invoice’ or ‘Medical Supplies’ in the transfer, nothing would have happened. But because we said ‘Palestine Medicine,’ suddenly everything was blocked. It was as if naming a nation was a crime.” — Samir

“We only had €10,000 for medicine, but the banking system treated us like criminals — all because the word ‘Palestine’ appeared in the transfer.” — Samir

🕊 The Human Impact of a Bank Delay

The delay in releasing the funds had serious consequences:

• Medicines that should have been purchased and delivered quickly were postponed for weeks.

• Patients were left waiting.

• Travel, calls, and follow-up costs for the family increased several times over.

• Trust between banks and humanitarian actors was undermined.

Yet, despite these pressures, faith in doing the right thing did not waver.

Samir’s family and the Ogmios Foundation remained determined to ensure the aid reached its destination — even if the path was longer and more difficult.

🤝 Cooperation Between Ogmios and Samir’s Team

The Ogmios Foundation, expressing sympathy with Samir and his team, views this experience as emblematic of the real challenges humanitarian actors face worldwide.

The President of Ogmios,stated:

“Providing aid is never easy, especially when humanity is the goal. But we will not back down. Every obstacle that stands in the way of doing good only strengthens our resolve.”

🌹 Conclusion: Humanity Still Lives

This report is not just about a bank transfer — it is about pure intentions that sometimes become trapped behind cold walls of laws and politics.

The story of Samir demonstrates that, even in the face of the greatest obstacles, humanity continues to breathe.

The Ogmios Foundation honors all benefactors, doctors, and humanitarian actors who stand firm in the face of challenges.

This experience reminds us of a simple truth:

Helping people is never a crime — and no system should stand in the way of love and humanity.
